Save from your browser

Last updated: 19 October 2026

The browser extension is the fastest way to save. It works on any page, keeps you where you are, and lets you file the link right away or leave that for later.

Install it

The extension is on the Chrome Web Store and works in Chrome and other Chromium browsers such as Edge, Brave and Arc. A Firefox version is not published yet. After installing, pin it to the toolbar and sign in once with your Stashly account. The extension tour walks through the basics in a minute.

Three ways to save

  • The toolbar button. Opens a small panel for the page you are on. Add tags, a note, mark it as a todo, or put it straight into a collection, then save.

  • Right-click a link. Choose Save to Stash, Quick Save or Save to Todos to save where the link points without opening it. You can turn these menu items off in the extension settings.

  • Quick save. Press Ctrl+Shift+S (⌘+Shift+S on a Mac). The page goes to your Quick Save queue without opening anything, so you can keep reading.

The command palette

Press Alt+Shift+K to open a search box on top of the page you are on. Type a few words you remember about a save and open it without leaving the keyboard. On pages where extensions are not allowed to run, such as the browser's own settings, it opens Stashly in a new tab instead.

Changing the shortcuts

Chrome lets you change extension shortcuts at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. If a shortcut does nothing, another extension may have claimed it first.

What the extension can see

When you save, it reads the address and title of that tab. Stashly then fetches the page's picture and description on its own servers.

The extension can also add a Save to Stashly option next to the save buttons on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, X and LinkedIn. Each of these is off until you turn it on in the extension settings, and none of them runs on other sites.
