Delete your Stashly account or data
Last updated: 2026-08-09
This page explains how to delete data from Stashly, the link saving app published by Leon Gieser (Berlin, Germany). It covers the Stashly Android app, the iOS app, the website at stash.ly, and the browser extension. They all share one account, so deleting something once removes it everywhere.
You have two options: delete individual data and keep your account, or delete your account and everything in it. You can do either yourself in the app, or ask us to do it for you.
Ask us to delete it, from this page
You do not need the app, or a working sign-in. Fill in the form below and we will do the deleting for you. It works if you have already uninstalled Stashly, cannot get into your account, or simply prefer not to do it yourself.
We reply to the address you give us to check the request is really yours, then complete it within 30 days. Nothing is deleted before that reply, so a request made in error costs you nothing.
You can also do either of these yourself, immediately, without asking us. That is what the rest of this page covers.
Option 1: delete some of your data, keep your account
Everything you save can be deleted on its own, at any time, with no request to us and no waiting period. Deletions here are immediate and permanent.
- A saved link. In the Android and iOS apps, swipe the link row sideways and select Delete. On the web, open the link and select Delete.
- A collection. Open the collection and select Delete collection from its menu. This also removes its canvas layouts, sort orders, member list, and pending invitations.
- Notes and tags on a link. Open the link, clear the field, and save.
- A connected app or API token. On the web, go to Settings, then Connections, and select Revoke. This deletes the stored token, so that app loses access immediately.
- A connected sign-in provider (Google, GitHub, Discord, Apple). On the web, go to Settings, then Security, and unlink it, as long as one sign-in method remains.
Deleting a link also deletes the search embeddings and any extracted page text held for it. Nothing is kept in a trash or recycle bin.
Or ask us. If you cannot reach something yourself, or would rather not, use the form above, pick "Delete specific data", and describe what should go, for example everything saved before a certain date, one collection, or your search history. You do not have to delete your account to get that done.
If content on Stashly concerns you and you do not have an account, for example a link or image that identifies you, use our content removal form. No account is needed and we respond within 30 days.
Option 2: delete your account and all of your data
Deleting your account takes effect immediately and covers the whole account, no matter which app you saved from. You can do it on any of them, without leaving the app you are in.
- Android and iOS. Open Settings, select Delete account under your email address, and confirm with Delete forever.
- Web. Go to stash.ly/delete-account, which lands on the Delete account section of your settings. Select Delete my account, type DELETE in the confirmation box, and select Delete forever.
You are signed out straight away and the account cannot be recovered. Nothing else is required of you first: there is no subscription to cancel and no support ticket to open.
Or ask us. If you cannot sign in, have already uninstalled the app, or would rather we handled it, use the form above and pick "Delete my account". We confirm it is you by replying to the address you give, then delete the account within 30 days.
What deleting your account removes
All of the following is erased from our live systems at the moment you confirm:
- Your profile: email address, username, display name, avatar, bio, and profile links
- Your credentials: password, two-factor secrets, passkeys, active sessions, and linked Google, GitHub, Discord, and Apple accounts. Your Apple sign-in token is revoked with Apple as part of the deletion.
- Every saved link, with its URL, title, fetched metadata, archived page text, notes, and tags
- Every collection you own, including canvases, sort orders, memberships, invitations, and submissions
- Search data: your vector embeddings, link similarity records, and search query history
- Social data: follows, follow requests, likes, blocks, notifications, and activity
- Integration data: connected services, API tokens, import sessions, and vault settings and audit records
- Your usage analytics events, which are keyed to your account
- Your personal inbox and Quick Save email addresses, which stop accepting mail
What is kept, and for how long
- Server access logs: 30 days. These hold IP addresses and user agent strings, kept for security and abuse prevention, and are deleted on a rolling 30 day window.
- Copies other people made: kept in their accounts. If someone saved or copied a link from a collection you made public, that copy belongs to their account and stays there. It is no longer linked to you.
- Payment records, if you ever paid for Stashly: up to 10 years. Invoices are held by our payment provider because German commercial and tax law requires it. They contain billing details, never your saved links.
- Aggregate counts. Non identifying totals, such as how many links were saved on a given day, cannot be traced back to you and are not deleted.
Nothing else is retained. We do not keep a shadow copy of your library, and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
